Photos & Recap: Badfish at the Brooklyn Bowl, 10/21

This past Friday, the East Coast’s premier Sublime tribute band, Badfish, performed for a near sold-out crowd at New York City’s Brooklyn Bowl. Similar to the band they pay tribute to, Badfish has developed a devote following that will pack a concert hall at almost any venue across the nation, and the turnout and energy from Friday’s concert was a firm testament to that notion. The trio performed classics spanning 40 Oz. of Freedom to Robbin’ the Hood, and masterfully honored the essence of Sublime with laid-back dub music, energetic punk rock segments, and off-the-cuff vocal improvisation. For the true Sublime fan, there’s no better tribute experience than the one delivered by Badfish, not even (in my humble opinion) Sublime with Rome.

Friday’s concert was one of Badfish’s last shows before a busy East Coast / Midwest tour that commences on November 10th at the Chameleon Club in Lacaster, PA. The tour will take Badfish all across the East Coast, over to Texas, and back up to the Northeast with over 30 scheduled shows. To learn more about their upcoming performances, check out the full schedule on the band’s website. In the meantime, enjoy some photos from the the Brooklyn Bowl.
